ABOUT HUNTING IN TANZANIA
Tanzania with an area of 943,400 square kilometers, offers a variety of wildlife habitats and game trophies. The vast and diverse landscapes of this East African nation have drawn hunters from around the world seeking the thrill of tracking and taking down some of the planet’s most iconic wildlife species. The allure lies in Tanzania’s expansive wilderness, which is home to an incredible array of wildlife species, of plains game and Big game including African elephants, lions, leopards and buffaloes. These animals have become the primary targets for big game hunters.
The Tanzanian hunting season is all year round from 1st January to 31st December. The long monsoon rainy season is April / May, while the short rains usually fall between November and December. There is a minimal variation in temperature as Tanzania is located close to the equator. Masai land can be very cold at night especially during June, July and August.
